Isabel
de la Riva
Isabel de la Riva has been practicing law since 1999 in the areas of civil litigation, including personal injury, product liability, construction disputes, commercial litigation, and business and contract disputes. For over five years, she has also represented companies and assisted them in both their litigation and business matters.
Isabel was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and is fluent in Spanish. She established a pattern of success early in her academic career by first earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Houston and continuing by graduating Magna Cum Laude from St. Mary’s University School of Law, culminating with the award of her Juris Doctorate degree in 1999 and her founding of a new law review at her school, The Scholar, which is still running.
With a strong desire to give back to the legal community and provide opportunities for the next generation of professionals, Isabel has taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas in San Antonio and the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. She has received several Business and Professional Women’s awards and has been named a Super Lawyer every year since 2008. She is a national board member at Leadership Women and is on the board of several legal associations.
She is often heralded as the smartest, funniest, and brightest by everyone and anyone who meets her but she is reluctant to share that since she does not want to brag.
